Food for Thought

Remember to nuture the future of the drum section to your best of you abilities. And most importantly keep up the standard of the Drum Section and always strive to improve.
Why i say this was the best decision is not because of the number of CIP hours i get and the 2 free cca points but rather the experience of being a bandsman. The times we spend creating music together, the times we get together as a band for activities, the times we gather together as schoolmates such as eating at the same table. And for sure these things we have and we do, the rest of the CCAs do not have.
i think you guys should know the days in band for the sec 4s are numbered. As in really really numbered...So i guess the sec 4s dont have much time left, and coming to think of it, time really passes pretty fast. If not for the enjoyable and fufilling times in band, i guess our time as being Sec 4s or rather a bandsman as a whole would not have fly pass us that fast.
And when BS calls for attention during sectionals dun come and dilly dally walk slowly
to your positions.
Pls you guys must be more lax with yourselfs.
This is the last syf for the sec 4s so pls pls give your best show for the drum section and especially the sec 4s.
And all of us need to improve tremendously(especially me i play like crap).
Ok and since the sec 4s have very limited time the band, pls at least give us the assurance that
the drum section can be self-reliant

Those who are unable to attend, do inform me at once.
Those who are absent for dumb excuses, shall be dealt severely.
Please make it a point to come down for sectionals, the attendance is very disappointing. Secondly, I'm expecting to see more people making an effort to come down after school to practise your instruments.
Your current standard is uber disgraceful.
Not only the two SYF pieces, but also National Anthem and School Rally.
Please work hard for your SYF this year.
A gold is a must.

Seize every opportunity to play well till SYF,
work hard guys.
ENDURE.

Guys, after reading the above posts by alumni, I think you all should reflect on your role in the band.
"Pls at least give us the assurance that the drum section can be self-reliant". What does this mean to you? Time and time again we ask you to practise yourself, but results don't show. Time and tide wait for no man, we have to buck up if we want to achieve anything. As Leonard says, "Most importantly keep up the standard of the Drum Section and always strive to improve". Do you think we fall you in for fun? What we're trying to fufill is the legacy of the section. The legacy of the best. I think we should get our act together, and work towards our goals. Keep up the standard that has been built by our seniors. Don't you feel the pride being lost? Being tarnished by trivial things like slacking? Discipline is key to ensure this. Honestly, right now, I can't say your discipline is bad. If not, why do we run out of things to scold you for? But I can't say it's good either, incomparable to what it once was. So after reading this, I hope you guys go reflect on this during this break from band, and when band resumes I want to see a significant improvement in attitude, including confidence, and be prepared to endure onerous rehearsals and practises for SYF. After exam period, it's going to be intensive SYF practise. But don't lose heart, always look back on the foundation we were built on, and on SYF day, walk onto the stage, the stage where two years ago we did wonders, with pride. Knowing that whatever comes, we have upheld our legacy and stayed true to our section.
